BRYR will run the Fetac level 5 Cert in Youth Work again in January 2011.
This course is intended for those working as youth leaders at present in a voluntary or paid capacity or those interested in a career in Youth Work. Download brochure.
Admission Requirements:
· Two hours (minimum) weekly involvement in a youth club/group or youth organisation
· Participants must be aged 18 or over
· Good literacy level
· An informal interview will take place as part of the selection process
Course content:
There will be a brief induction period between November & December ’10 to give participants the opportunity to discuss individual needs and bond as a group.
The FETAC level 5 Certificate in Youth Work will be awarded to candidates who reach the required standard in modules whose total value are at least 8 and which include:
- Working with young people
- Work experience
- Communication
- Understanding Youth Work
- Young people and Society
- Working with Groups
- Substance Use – Issues for Youthwork
- Health Awareness
Certification:
BRYR is registered with FETAC – Further Education and Training Awards Council – to offer programmes leading to the level 5 Certificate in Youth Work.
Course Duration:
The course will run over a period of 12 months one morning a week, including at least 3 weekends.
