BRYR is seeking a Youth Worker – Arts / Multimedia
Ballymun Regional Youth Resource is a professional youth work organisation working for the welfare and development of all 10-21 year-old young people in the area.
BRYR is seeking a Youth Worker – Arts & Multimedia who will work directly to the Groups & Arts Team, in a very busy and dynamic youth work environment.
The Youth Worker – Arts & Multimedia will play an important role in the Communications through Information Technology for Youth, (CITY) project, BRYR’s participation in the Ballymun Festival Steering Committee and in contributing to the arts dimension of BRYR’s overall work.
This position is offered as a fixed-term contract for 12 months, for 25 hours per week, and includes evening and weekend work, and so there is some flexibility required.
A professionally endorsed qualification in Youth and Community Work, or, an equivalent professional qualification, or, three years relevant work experience is required.
It is essential that the person appointed has a comprehensive and clear understanding and experience of the youth work approach to working with young people.
The specific arts skills of the appointed person are in the area of creative media/multi media including one or more of the following: digital film making, photography, animation, website development, game building.
Diplomacy and strong partnership building skills, as well as co-ordination and
project management skills and abilities around events i.e. concerts, festivals etc
young people.
