BRYR is seeking a Temporary Part-time Youth Worker - Outreach
Ballymun Regional Youth Resource is a professional youth work organisation working for the welfare and development of all 10-21 year-old young people in the area.
BRYR is seeking a Part-time Youth Worker who will work directly to the Outreach Senior Youth Worker and Team, in a very busy and dynamic youth work environment.
The Youth Worker - Outreach will be engaged in street-based youth work to engage young people in constructive and challenging relationships and help to engage them with personal development activities including youth clubs, recreational activities, vocational training, formal education and relevant support services.
This position is offered as a fixed-term contract for 6 months initially, for 17.5 hours per week, and includes significant evening and weekend work, and so there is some flexibility required.
Additionally, a professional qualification in Youth & Community Work, or, an equivalent professional qualification and three years experience working with young people in a youth work setting, or, three years experience full time in a youth work capacity, is essential.
A strong sense of professionalism including commitment, competency and confidence in the work.
Very strong ability to work with young people at street level.
Experience working in a challenging environment and with challenging behaviour.
Ability to work co-operatively with other BRYR Teams and relevant external organisations/individuals is key.
This position is jointly supported by BRYR, Ballymun Local Drugs Task Force and Ballymun Regeneration Limited, as part of the Easy Street initiative.
