Overview of current Clubs, Groups and Activities - Groups/Arts Team
The Summer is over and we've now moved into the Autumn Term. An annual review was carried out where clubs and groups were assessed and changes made. From this, the clubs and groups have started up again.
These clubs/groups are divided into 2 strands; Groups Strand and Arts Strand.
Group Strand is divided into clubs open activities and collaborative work:
A 10-12yrs programme called the "Junior Cadets" (A youthclub that has 4 sub-groups that meet 3 times weekly - Programme runs 5 days a week.)
13-15 yrs section called the "Early Teen Clubs or E.T.s.(Youthclubs only)
A 15 + yrs section called the "Older Teen Clubs or O.T.s, (Youthclubs and other groups such as Youthbank and Open Monday)
Open Activities ( Fun Activities ran throughout the week for any young person to access)
Collaborative Youthwork.( Working with other youth organisations in the area to run youth groups. Currently supporting the Coultry Area)
Currently the focus within the Groups is around programme development, volunteer plans, building E.T clubs and reviewing the Open Activities Programme.
The Art Strand is divided into 4 key clubs and collaborative work:
The Art Club: Divided into a Junior Group (10-14) and a senior group (15+)
The Music Club: Divided into "Young Bands (Via access on Open Monday and Open Friday", "Munch Samba Band (Beginners and Advanced) ", "Junior Variety Music Club (Guitars, drumming, performance) "Music Committee" (supports young people to get involved in the music projects that are being run)
CITY (Communications through Information Technology for Youth): Divided into Groups, Projects, Internet Access and CITY Service) The Groups are: Animation, Digital Story-telling. The Projects are: CITY Blog and Comic Life. Internet Access is ran in multiple hourly sessions between Monday to Saturday. CITY Services: This involves other youth groups making use of the technology available.
RYT (Roundabout Youth Theatre): Divided into 3 groups: Junior Group (10-12s), Middle group (13-16), and senior group (17-21).
Currently the focus within the Art Clubs is around club development, membership, volunteer plans and recruitment.
Other areas of work is a collaborative piece of work with the Ballymun Festival Steering Committee for the upcoming Halloween Festival, known locally as "Otherworld". BRYR is involved in the Otherworld Committee, the actual Festival Event and facilitating young people to engage with the Otherworld Youth Panel.
