Focus on... Open Activities - Horse Riding

Our Groups Team runs Open Activities every week. One of our most popular activities is Horse-Riding.Every Wednesday from 4.30 – 6.30, a group of 10 young people go to Kilronan Equestrian Centre in Swords to take part in a horse riding lesson.

Because this is an open activity, anyone aged between 10 – 14 can take part. All a young person needs to do is call to the Reco and ask how to be put on the list. This activity costs 4 euro a week. This is a very popular activity among the young people. It is a great way to get a taster of horse-riding and start you off.

Here are some of the opinions of just some of the young people who have attended in the past:

I like horse riding because when I went for the first time everybody was very welcoming and so was my instructor Michelle. The horse I was on was gorgeous and it is my favourite. His name is Simba.

I like horse riding because the instructors are very nice. My favourite horse is Rory because he is brilliant at cantering and Jumping.

Kelly

I love horse riding. It is really cool and I love animals. I love jumping and cantering. My favourite horse is Toffee. She is a lovely Horse and she good at Cantering and that is why I like horse riding. I like shane because he is a good jumper and he is a good horse.

Deirdre

I love horse riding because I love horses. I don’t like cantering or jumping. My favourite horse is Puzzle.
