Below are some FAQs on Outfit.
- Outfit is a programme of opportunity and support for a year long period, for people who are caught up in challenging behaviour and have a desire to change.
Who is it for?
- Outfit is for young people aged 17 – 21 both male / female living in or around the Ballymun area.
Assessment phase
- Up to 100 young people will be worked with for a period of 3 months where they will be assessed to find out if the are possible Outfit participants. If they become the final 18 – 20 young people selected for Outfit they will go on to make goals, where they identify their own needs, which determines the direction of work we do for the rest of the year.
- These 18 – 20 participants will be mentored/supported and followed up on regardless of where they end up once they become part of the Outfit programme.
Implementation phase
One – One work
- Each participant will have and individual 1-1 meeting with the Outfit worker each week to see how much progress is been made in relation to the named goal, follow up plans will then be made to support these individuals.
Group activity
- Each participant will have an opportunity to attend a weekly group workshop/activity, some of these workshops may be, sexual health awareness, motor mechanics ect.. Then the activity may be, a meal out in a restaurant, horse riding ect.. Again these will be use for update on any previous follow up.
Wind down phase
- Each Outfit participant will come to the end of the programme with a less intense wind down for a period of three months to look back over the year and see if we have any loose ends. Also to bring closure on a period of their life and see how secure the foundations they have build is and if there is any work left to complete. From there they will fall back into support and follow up from the Outreach team so the Outfit worker can start the Assessment phase again with 100 new young people.
