New Christmas Lights forThe Reco Courtyard
New Christmas Lights in The Reco Courtyard
Reco Courtyard had it's Xmas lights lit up for first time on Tuesday.
The Reco Courtyard and Roof garden were full of sparkle on Tuesday 6th of December, when our young competition winners turned on the new Christmas lights for the first time ever!
The countdown to the big switch was lead by Sarah, from MUNCH on the big drum, followed by enthusiastic cheers from young people from the Junior Cadets, Open City Computers, Open Swimming Club, Open Sports Club, The Reco Aisling Project, The Sillogue Aisling and staff from all the projects.
The actual turning on of the lights was carried out by 2 of our young people.
The feedback from all the young people was very positive and all were delighted with the lights and felt it really created a very special feeling and atmosphere in The Reco for everyone to enjoy!
Yummy Hot chocolate and marshmallows served from the Reco Café added to the special night and warmed everyone up on a cold evening.
This special project for the first time ever was made possible due to funding from IBM, BRYR and the young people of the Cadets who donated their prize money after winning the beautiful spaces competition this year in The Ballymun Tidy Town awards for their gardening work in The Reco courtyard. Contributions from all parties, big and small were gratefully appreciated and will add a special sparkle to The Reco Courtyard and for young people for many years to come!
