Summer Review - Positive Vibes Arts Collaboration

Positive Vibes; an in-house 8 week Youth Arts Collaboration facilitated by BRYR.

Facilitation was provided by members of both the Groups and Outreach team who work in the various arts groups within BRYR.

The project involved encouraging young people to explore their artistic talents in the form of song writing, instrument playing & performance, drama, art, and digital media/art.

There was a strong emphasis on developing one’s own creativity.

The project also worked on collaborating young people’s individual talents and skills with different art forms. It allowed the young people to express themselves and to present their views and feelings through various artistic styles.

It also enabled the young people to appreciate and learn from each other and build new friendships.

The project explored a range of themes of positive self, and also brought in speakers Tony Bates, CEW of Headstrong and Dr Gillian O'Brien, Clinical coordinator of Jigsaw Young Ballymun, to talk about positivity and mental health awareness.

Over the 8 weeks the young people also prepared for a performance and exhibition which was held in the Reco on the 27th of July.(Gallery of Event Pics)

Positive Vibes turned out to be a great success and a very positive experience for all young people involved.
