CITY
Communications through IT for Young People or CITY is a creative multimedia project. ICTs can empower young people by offering ways of communicating their thoughts, ideas and feelings. There are currently over 280 members of CITY Club.
We have two dedicated CITY rooms: CITY Centre and CITY HQ, which are available to CITY club members
CITY Centre offers access to 16 pc’s with internet access and a projector and screen as a means of communication (message board, live webcasts) and work with the young people on internet safety, literacy and basic pc skills. It is mostly used as a type of internet café: it's only for young people and is carefully supervised.
CITY HQ offers access to 6 Apple Mac computers and creative media equipment, such as digital cameras, digital video, projector, scanner and creative software. This is the hub of CITY where creative media projects such as website development (www.ballymunyouth.ie is under construction), film-making, animation, developmental gaming and music recording take place.
CITY Services is the title under which we offer access to the above resources to the wider community.
