The Music Club

The Music Club officially launched in December 2008. The new Music Club is split into 3 age groups junior 10-12, middle teens 13-14 and senior 15-21 it provides a more coordinated approach to music and offers more opportunities for those already involved as well as engaging new young people.

The club engages with up to 100 young people from the age 10-21 on a weekly basis.The Club aims to bring the approx 100 young people already engaged in music activity within BRYR, (Munch Samba, INVENT, Open Friday, individual bands rehearsal time and show cases), into one overall group.

Members of the Club have access to a dedicated club space which includes: rehearsal space, a range of equipment, musical skill development including guitar& drums lessons, song writing, and recording. It also provides opportunities to showcase their talent.

To date, young people from the BRYR music club have been part of a variety of music work shops and performances within the Reco Building and other community venues including AXIS.

Older young people from the senior music club age 17+ also have an opportunity to give back into the club and volunteer their time to co-facilitate within the Junior Music club on a weekly basis.

There is also a music club committee which allows young people age 15+ to be more proactive and have more involvement in the club. forexample organising and running open mic nights and other music based events and projects

Times and days of the club are:

Tuesday’s 2x 45min groups for age 10-12 Times 5:30pm -6:15pm & 6:15pm-7:00pm

Tuesday’s 2x 45min groups for age 13-14 Times 7:15pm-8:00pm & 8:15pm-9:00pm

Monday in the open sessions for age 15+ Times 7:30pm-10pm

Friday in the open sessions for age 15+ Times 6:00pm-9pm

Music rehearsal space is available to book only to members of the club at different times on a weekly basis. details are available from Reco Reception.
