Collaborative Youth Work

BRYR collaborates with other youth clubs and projects in the area on the delivery of programmes for the 10-21 target group.

Mostly based on requests, there are many examples of this work. For example, last year we worked with the Coultry Youth Club as they established themselves. We provided an experienced Youth Worker to directly help lead two evening groups and we supported club development through training and assistance with acquiring finance.

One of the biggest collaborative initiatives is through the Ballymun Festival Steering Committee, which manages the Halloween festival ‘Otherworld’ and the youth arts festival ‘LiFT’. Dublin City Council (Community Development and Arts Office), Axis Arts Centre and Youthreach are also represented in the committee. These two festivals are becomming significant items on the Ballymun social and cultural calendar.
