Summer Programme 2009 review

BRYR has just last week finished our Summer Programme for 2009 which lasted for 3 months!

We're happy that it was a big success. It built on previous BRYR Summer Programmes.

We've also had our review day where we noted successes and have some good ideas for Summer Programme 2010

Two aspects which we were really happy with this year was, firstly, the strong volunteer presence which enhanced our work with the young people and secondly, having access to our new Reco Sports Area which was a fabulous resource for healthy and fun sports activity.

Some interesting Facts and Figures

  • Ran throughout the months of June July and August
  • It catered for the following age ranges. 10-12 yrs, 13yrs+ , 15yrs+
  • Average of 60 Activity slots planned every week of the Programme
  • Approx 250 young people specifically registered to avail of the various open activities on the Summer Programme 09
  • Other young people continued to be involved in the regular clubs taking place. eg: 15yrs+ in Open Monday and Open Friday, The Munch Samba Band, club activities and residentials.
  • Summer Programme this year was ran from various locations: Our Temporary Reco Building, the new Reco Sports Area, The Pappins Club-BRYR and several other external locations, particular thanks to Ballymun Job Centre for their support this year.
