The Reco
The Reco is Ballymun's Central Youth Facility.
Opened in 2006, it is a safe, convivial space. It was custom-built and is now used by about 600 young people and 150 adults involved in youth work each week.
60% of the activities in The Reco are managed by BRYR, with the remainder managed by organisations such as Aisling, Allsorts and DCC's Sports Development Officers.
With core funding from the YPFSF and key backing from DCC and Ballymun Regeneration Ltd, The Reco is a 1700 square meter facility located in the heart of Ballymun. The building has 10 seperate spaces for youth activites, while less than 10% of total space is used by offices. The Reco Restaurant is a health promoting space. It serves young people involved in Reco-based activity, walk-in young customers and adults linked with youth work. It also provides external catering to youth-linked activities.
