Once a volunteer…

Rights and responsibilities of volunteers

As a volunteer, you have both rights that protect your interests and help make your time at BRYR a positive experience, and responsibilities to BRYR to ensure that we are working towards shared goals.

BRYR Volunteer Code of Conduct

Each volunteer must agree to adhere to the code of conduct outlined below.

BRYR Induction

The new volunteer will meet with the VSW to receive the Induction Pack and be guided through the Induction process.

Group Induction

The second part of the induction process involves a meeting with the volunteer’s new direct supervisor (usually a BRYR youth worker).

Placement

The volunteer will be placed with a group and supervising youth worker on a one-month probationary basis.

Ongoing Support

Once placed, the volunteer’s primary point of contact will be the direct supervisor.

Review Meetings

Review meetings will happen with the VSW, YW and volunteer at the end of each term where possible.

Training

BRYR aims to continually provide training and development opportunities for staff and volunteers.
