BRYR Induction

The new volunteer will meet with the VSW to receive the Induction Pack and be guided through the Induction process.

If several volunteers are being recruited for the same program at one time, this process can occur in a group setting.

The induction pack includes:

  • 2 Copies of Volunteering Agreement to be signed by both VSW and volunteer, one copy retained by each. The agreement will outline the general responsibilities and rights of BRYR volunteers, and the particular roles and responsibilities of the individual. It will also outline a volunteer code of conduct.
  • Guide to Volunteering at BRYR

The purpose of this stage of the induction process is for the volunteer to meet with the VSW and be inducted into volunteering at BRYR. The volunteer will:

  • Be given a thorough explanation of the roles and responsibilities of BRYR volunteers
  • Be guided through the induction pack
  • Have the opportunity to ask questions
  • Receive a tour of the Reco (if this has not already happened)
  • Be introduced to BRYR staff
  • Be provided with information about upcoming training opportunities and requirements. Within reasonable time of beginning placement, the volunteer must complete Child Protection training
