BRYR offers a range of training courses and workshops for professional youth workers and volunteers working with young people, mainly in Ballymun. These courses are delivered in The Reco, which is a FETAC accredited training centre.
We deliver short courses based on the needs identified by youth work practitioners in BRYR and Ballymun. They include: Child Protection Awareness, Occupational and Pratical First Aid, Health & Safety, Safetalk, ASIST, Mental Health.
We also deliver workshops and information session on a variety of topics related to young people to support youth work practitioners in their practice. They include: Young People and the Law, European Voluntary Service, Information to Youth Exchanges, Using muti-media in youth work.
BRYR has been a FETAC accredited centre since 2008 and offered the FETAC level 5 Certificate in Youth Work until end 2012. This course allowed many successful graduates to access third-level education in youth work or other related disciplines.
We are not currently runnning the certificate in 2013 but we hope to be able to run it again in 2014.
If you would like to register your interest for future courses or for further information, please contact our Training and Development officer Laurence.
